Dear St. Joseph’s School Parents,
Our school community has had a wonderful week of special events at school as we continue through the month of May. Families will find included in this Friday Letter important information regarding the end of this school year and the upcoming school year.
Lower School (K-5) Staff Announcements
Today, we share with you some forthcoming staff changes in our Lower School (K-5), in addition to updates on new hires for 2022-23.
We wish to express our sincere thanks to a few K-5 staff that are pursuing other options (i.e., retirement, maternity, etc.) for next year including: Vicki Young (Kindergarten), Sarah Schneck (1st Grade), Justine Reisman (4th Grade) and Julie Schmid (4th Grade). Each of these teachers have served St. Joseph Catholic School generously and we wish them our best in this transition!
As noted in our recent job postings and renewed vision at St. Joseph’s: Our full commitment to academic excellence is not merely compatible with our school’s Catholic identity; it is demanded by that very mission. We share in the great duty of providing an education that is both faithfully Catholic and academically first-rate.
To this end, we are pleased to announce the following new staff who will be joining us in 2022-23: Mrs. Becky Kuettel (Kindergarten), Ms. Caroline Hutcheson (1st Grade), Mrs. Mary Beth Durham (4th Grade) and Mrs. Becky Colwell (Grade TBD). We are still hiring an additional 2nd grade teacher due to the size of that particular class, and possibly one other K-5 teacher. Please read here for additional details on the new additions to the K-5 Team. Additional details on the K-5 team, including administrative and specialist roles will be forthcoming.
Middle School (6-8) Director and Staff Announcement
We’ve received a very positive response to the announcement last week of our new Middle School Director, Ms Audrey Wenner - in addition to new Middle School staff - Mrs. Kathleen Diedrick (Mathematics), Ms. Mary Carlson (Science) and Ms. Katie Erickson (Communication Skills). Please read here for additional details on the new additions to the Middle School team for 2022-23.
Tuition Agreements
Most agreements for the 2022-23 school year have been sent out through TADS over the past week; several are still being finalized. Thank you to the many families who have already completed their agreements. For those who have not, thank you in advance for taking a few minutes this weekend to complete, as it is critical information for us as we finalize employment agreements and staffing needs for next year.
NWEA MAP Assessment
St. Joseph's School students in grades 2-8 recently completed the NWEA MAP (Monitoring Academic Progress) Assessments in Mathematics and Reading. Today, families are receiving their child’s Spring 2022 Family Report. Your child has the report in an envelope addressed to you. The report is a summary of how your child is performing academically, as measured by the most recent MAP Growth test (Spring 2022). Mr. Wesely and Mrs. Bruce have met with each teacher to review the results of the students in their classroom. Please review your child’s report. After reviewing the report, please contact your child’s teacher or Mrs. Bruce if you have any questions.
