Teach Catholic Video Features Middle School Teacher Katie Erickson
This past week, the Archdiocese released this video of Middle School English teacher Katie Erickson speaking about why she chose to become a teacher in a Catholic school. Filmed this past Spring here at Saint Joseph’s, it says a number of wonderful things about our school and working in Catholic education in general, and will be used in the future to recruit teachers to work in schools across the Archdiocese. Congratulations to Ms. Erickson for all of her work in our school and her work with this video!
St. Joseph’s School Give Day - October 26!
Mark your calendars - St. Joe's Give Day is Thursday, October 26!
St. Joe's Give Day is right around the corner and we need our whole community to get involved and help spread the word! Our 2023 Give Day focus will be on enhancing security and addressing specific areas of our beloved yet aging infrastructure. Help us reach our goal of $60,000 by letting friends, family, neighbors, fellow alumni and employers (especially those who offer matching donations!) know how much St. Joe's means to you by asking them to give on October 26.
Respect Life Month - Donations now being accepted through October 27th!
October is Respect Life Month. Our school is having a Layette (baby item) Collection during this month. We will hold the collection October 9-27. Please consider donating the items in most need - outfits-size 18 months to 3T, winter coats- size 18 months to 3T, winter boots/shoes- SZ 3T to 10T, baby bottles, strollers, infant car seats, disposable breast pads, one-gallon and one quart ziplock bags, baby bottles, wipes and baby shampoo to benefit and support the work of Wakota-a Guiding Star Center in West St. Paul.
St. Joseph’s School Ofrenda Display
St. Joseph’s will be participating in CSCOE’s Ofrenda Contest in celebration of Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) for the Feast of All Souls. Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) for the feast of All Souls. Dia De Los Muertos is a great opportunity to remember and pray for all the members of the body of Christ.
Please send a photo of a family member or friend that has passed away to Spanish Class. Please write your student's name and his/her homeroom teacher's name on the back of the photo if you would like your photo returned. You will also receive a Sign Up Genius from Home & School for some specific items we are looking for to decorate the Ofrenda.
We hope you will have an opportunity to see it. Thank you Ms. Petrangelo and Mrs. Lamusga for coordinating this for our school.
