Dear St. Joseph’s School Families,
The first full week of May has been a terrific week at St. Joseph’s School. It was a wonderful week of celebrations. In addition to holding our traditional May Crowning, we recognized the tremendous efforts of numerous school faculty and staff as well as prayed to Mary for all of our special moms.
May Crowning
Today, at our school Masses, we celebrated Mary with our annual May Crowning ceremony. Second grade students Kayla and Brie carried the crown, Jack and Miguel carried the Rosary wearing their first communion attire. Eighth grade students Lily and Hamelat, with the assistance of Jack and Merritt, placed the crown and rosary on the statue of Mary in the church sanctuary. In addition, the students and faculty sang some very special Mary songs. Mary, Queen of Heaven, pray for us!
Happy Mother’s Day!
St. Joseph’s School faculty extends a very Happy Mother’s Day to all of our moms! Enjoy this special day with your family. Mary, Mother of God pray for all of our mothers!
Teacher Appreciation Week ~ Nurses Day ~ Lunch Hero Day ~ Principals Day!
First, we are so honored to have such dedicated Catholic school teachers at St. Joseph’s School. We can not be more proud of our amazing teachers and we are so happy to be able to recognize them for their efforts and commitment to our school.
On May 6, we also celebrated Nurse’s Day as we are so grateful for Nurse Amy and Nurse Joey. They do such an amazing job taking care of us (both kids and adults)!
Today, we thanked our wonderful Lunch Ladies, Michele and Carol, who have been so supportive and flexible preparing lunches for our students during this unique school year.
Finally, also today, we recognized Mr. Wesely and Mrs. Budge for National Principals Day which was on May 1.
Our students, in addition to doing a terrific job of creating special cards, notes, and signs for each of the celebrations, did a great job keeping it all a secret from the adults. Thank you!

Mission
“St. Joseph’s Catholic School educates students through faith formation, academic excellence, and the development of virtue to be disciples of Christ.”
For Your Information
St. Joseph’s School is an important ministry of the Church of St. Joseph. Some of our school families are not members of the parish. In our efforts to serve all school families, our Friday Letter may at times include information about activities and events that are taking place at the Church of St. Joseph.
Parish Trustee Ginny Dwyer
It is with sadness that we share the news that our parish trustee Ginny Dwyer passed away on May 5th. Ginny had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just a few weeks ago. Let us pray for her peace and for her husband Mike and the Dwyer family. Ginny was appointed as a trustee of the parish in 2013 and served until her death. Her love for Jesus and dedication to the Church of St. Joseph was evident. She spent many volunteer hours helping to advance the mission of the parish and school. May the angels lead you into paradise; may the martyrs come to welcome you and take you to the holy city, the new and eternal Jerusalem.
Fr. Wratkowski Announcement
This week Fr. Creagan announced the transfer of Fr Timothy Wratkowski effective June 9. In his statement, Fr. Creagan shared;
“The Archdiocese has named him as a Parochial Vicar of a large suburban parish, Holy Name of Jesus Church in Medina. Fr. Wratkowski has served St. Joseph with such generosity and joy. I am also grateful for his excellent work leading the parish during my 3 months in Afghanistan. He has blessed all of us with his excellent preaching, joy and enthusiasm. Fr Wratkowski moved quickly during the COVID stay at home order in obtaining the technology we needed to have live streamed Masses. I know that so many have benefitted from this. He has been teaching the 8th grade in school and also helping the people entering the Catholic faith through RCIA. We will have an opportunity to honor him on the weekend of June 5/6 and there will be an outdoor reception after the 11:00am Mass.
Our new parochial vicar will be Fr Bruno Nwachukwu. He is well known to many parishioners as St. Joseph was his teaching parish from 2011-2015. We look forward to welcoming Fr. Bruno.”
