Dear Parents,
WOW! Three-day weeks with our students are sure busy. After two days of Professional Development with our faculty, our student school days were filled with much learning and several special events. Please continue to read this Friday Letter to learn more about our wonderful week at school. Also, check out the
St. Joseph’s Journal, hot of the press and included in your child’s Friday Folder.
During our two Professional Development Days, our faculty spent time discussing curriculum, instruction and reviewing NWEA MAP Assessment data. Science is our next curriculum area of focus for our school. Our faculty spent time reviewing our current science curriculum and instruction, reviewed the new Minnesota Science Standards, and made comparisons between the two. The faculty will continue this curriculum review during the school year by previewing instructional materials and aligning our Science curriculum and instruction. Mrs. Budge facilitated our faculty’s review and discussion of our student data from the Fall 2019 MAP Assessments. Teachers are reviewing their students’ results to identify their areas of development and projected growth.
This week, students in grades 3-8 participated in the sacrament of Reconciliation. We thank Fr. Creagan for leading the Reconciliation service and Fr. Creagan, Fr. Wratkowski, and the visiting priests for hearing our students’ confessions and assisting with the sacrament.
School Raffle Turn-in Day #4 was on Wednesday. Please read below to learn more about the awesome job our students, their families, and our faculty did by selling raffle tickets over the past four weeks. Thank you everyone!
Yes, it is a true, Mr. Wesely is on crutches! An MRI shows that Mr. Wesely has a fracture at the medial condyle of the femur and a meniscus tear. At this time, surgery is not required. Both should heal on their own as long as he keeps weight off of the leg, slows down, and use crutches. Please pray for a speedy recovery and full healing of Mr. Wesely’s leg.
We would like to personally invite you, your family, and friends to attend our Mass and Open House on Friday, November 15, 2019. This is a very important event for our school. See more information below. Thank you!
