Greetings from St. Joseph’s School! We had another wonderful week at school. A very successful Give to the Max Day, a Food Collection for Neighbors, Inc., the school Thanksgiving Mass involving our Middle School Choir and Band, and our Open House brought a tremendous amount of energy and spirit into our school. Please continue to review this Friday Letter, check your child’s Family Folder, and our school website to keep updated on all the happenings at St. Joseph’s School.
MN Give to the Max Day – THANK YOU! The faculty and I are overwhelmed with gratitude! Yesterday, was an incredible day for our school and community. We are so thankful for your generosity and the support you provided to our school during Give to the Max Day.
Together, over $75,000 was donated to St. Joseph's School. Twenty families combined efforts to challenge us with a
$25,000 match. One hundred thirty donors helped us to meet, and exceed that challenge by giving over
$30,000 online or by check to our church and school offices. And at the end of the day, a very generous supporter of the school presented us with an additional
$20,000.
We are humbled by the generosity of so many in our community who continue to support our school. Every gift is important and directly helps us continue our mission of educating students through faith formation, academic excellence and the development of virtue to be disciples of Christ.
May God continue to bless you, your families, our school alumni, and the benefactors. Please check our school Facebook page for a special MN Give to the Max “Thank You!” video.
Fall Open House St. Joseph’s School hosted a Fall Open House today. Families had the opportunity to tour the school, visit classrooms, and meet school staff. We appreciate everyone who came to visit the school including
15 new families. Our students and staff did an outstanding job welcoming the families and sharing the learning and excitement taking place in our school. We thank Christy Frost, Enrollment Coordinator for organizing the event and members of our School Advisory Council for being present to assist with the school tours. Please help us spread the word about our amazing school! Our best referrals come from you! Thanks!

Math in Focus Information Our school has purchased and is implementing new mathematics resources during this school year. Math in Focus, Singapore Math by Marshall Cavendish is more than a curriculum, it is a coherent unfolding of mathematics based upon a proven pedagogy that has been successful in Singapore for 20 years. When a school begins a new curriculum and introduces new resources, there are many different factors to consider. Attached to this Friday Letter is a
Math in Focus Newsletter; Theory and Practice. The newsletter contains a few aspects of Singaporean teaching to be aware of during the implementation. We encourage to read this information to become familiar with some of the instructional strategies and the questioning that is taking place in our classrooms during math class.
